Morocco has been famous for its manufacture of Arabic carpets and Berber carpets for hundreds of years. Traditional handmade Berber carpets are considered one of the most famous products of the craft industry sector, and their value is estimated at billions of dollars. This type of carpet is an artistic painting on which folk tales and stories from the history of Morocco are woven. Moroccan carpets are classified into two types: urban carpets and rural carpets. Urban carpets are mainly made by Arab city dwellers. They are densely woven and usually include flower shapes. Their manufacture is concentrated in Rabat. Moroccan carpets are generally distinguished by their bright red color, and their materials are dominated by pure wool . Or cotton, and decorated with the distinctive aesthetic shapes for which the countries of the Arab Maghreb and Andalusian civilization are famous, but these standards differ from one region to another, which has helped to have many types of carpets within one country. Moroccan carpets are known for their curves and geometric shapes, and the colors used in them vary from one region to another, between blue, red, yellow, and green. One of the most important types of carpets, as they are called in Morocco, is made in the cities of Rabat and Fez and in the villages of Souss and Atlas.
